Local Law Enforcement
Roughly fifty automobiles have been smeared with what seems to be human blood in the Germany's municipality of Hanau near Frankfurt, according to law enforcement.
Cars, building surfaces and mailboxes were defaced, occasionally with prohibited symbols, they reported in a statement.
Law enforcement report they were notified during the night on Wednesday evening, when a man observed that a vehicle in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been covered with a reddish fluid.
The fluid had been applied in the shape of a banned symbol, they reported.
Officers then located numerous other vandalized vehicles and residential walls in the adjacent neighborhood.
Nazi symbols are prohibited in Germany under laws prohibiting the public display of Nazi-era symbols.
Police report early analysis indicate the liquid was probably blood from a person.
"Currently there is no lead as to its source; investigators are currently not aware of any physical harm in relation with the occurrence," they stated.
Municipal representatives stated they were working "to unravel the mystery" and have asked to the community for details.
An important political figure stated the vandalism left him speechless and had to be addressed quickly.
"This event strikes at the very heart of Hanau and reopens the wounds of the far-right attack in 2020," he stated on online, referring to the death of nine individuals by a gunman focusing on individuals of migrant background in five years prior.
